San Mateo County Dad's Workgroup We believe every father in San Mateo County has the opportunity to be a positive role model to enrich their children's lives.

This is the official page of the Dad’s Workgroup of San Mateo County. The Dad’s Workgroup is comprised of representatives from the Human Services Agency, Health System, Probation, Child Support, County Library and First 5 to develop fatherhood engagement strategies and support for at-risk fathers in San Mateo County. Our mission is to support at-risk fathers in achieving positive engagement with t

heir children. We strive to increase the awareness around the importance of fathers and their significant impact in child development and family stability. To that end, the county and our partners offer many wrap around services to help with employment services, re-entry services, child support resources, substance abuse & mental health services and parenting classes. The Dad’s Workgroup also operates two outreach tools for dads in San Mateo County. We have the SMC Dads Mobile App available on Apple and Android phones and the automated phone tree to link dads directly to services (1-844-650-DADS). We also host free events for dads and their kids:

* Dad & Me at the Library - Monthly storytime and father/child engagement activities in libraries throughout the County

* Dad & Me at the Park - An annual outdoor family friendly event filled with educational resources and activities to actively engage fathers in their children's lives
