Please join us today, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. in Weeks Lounge for the final session in this year's "Faculty/Staff Development" series.

"Beloit College's International Students: Assets and Needs"

International student enrollments are widely considered to be a key internationalization strategy, and Beloit College actively adopted this strategy long before many other peer institutions. Today, 15% of Beloit's degree students come from abroad, a percentage scheduled to increase to 20% according to the Strategic Enrollment Plan. In this session, we will begin by looking at changes in the international student body over the last ten years. We will then discuss the assets international student bring and how these might be better mobilized to benefit teaching and learning. Finally, we will discuss the adaptations demanded of international students to what for many is a new linguistic, academic, and social environment, and how existing supports might be adapted to ensure that all Beloit College students succeed and thrive.

We hope to see you there!
