Five years ago, Wrenches to Wheels started with a simple goal: teach students practical skills while giving them something they could be proud to take home.

On Tuesday morning, we continued that tradition at Lamar Middle School with Temple Independent School District. Students rolled up their sleeves, worked with community mentors, and gained hands-on experience assembling bicycles they got to keep. 🚲🔧

This event would not be possible without the support of our incredible community partners. Thank you to Don Ringler, Johnson Brothers, Materials Transportation Company, and seAH Superalloy Technologies for donating the bikes and tools that made this experience possible. We also extend our gratitude to Baylor Scott & White Health for providing helmets for every student and leading a bike safety demonstration. ⛑️🚲

We were also honored to have Temple ISD Superintendent Dr. Bobby Ott stop by to visit with students and see the impact of the program firsthand.

HOLIDAY CLOSURE

Most WorkForce Central Texas centers will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

📢 IMPORTANT: Our Rockdale Center will remain open during normal business hours.

All other centers will resume regular business hours on Monday, June 22.

When Hurricane Maria destroyed her home in Puerto Rico, Adnilem was forced to start over in Central Texas. Like many individuals facing unexpected challenges, she wasn't just looking for a job, she was looking for a path forward.
