The Benson Police Department is aware of information circulating on social media regarding an active search in the Benson area for a suspect reportedly connected to a fatal stabbing.

We would like to clarify that the suspect is no longer in the Benson area and has been apprehended by law enforcement. There is no active threat to the Benson community related to this incident.

The suspect is in law enforcement custody, and the situation has been resolved.
