I can tell my story.

For more than 10 years, I battled suicidal thoughts and moments when I simply wanted to give up.There were days when the battle in my mind felt greater than the strength I had left.

I’ve been in a straitjacket. I’ve been on medication. I’ve been to Pine Rest three times. I’ve been to RiverWood. I know what it feels like to fight a battle in your mind that other people cannot see.

But yet, GOD IS A KEEPER.

June 2019 became a turning point in my life. I can praise God today because He delivered me. He freed my mind. He gave me another chance.

I was told not to share my story because of what people might think or say about me. But I’ve reached a place where I don’t care about people's opinions my testimony may help save somebody else's life.

I thank God for giving me my mind back. I thank God for keeping me when I couldn't keep myself. I thank God for allowing me to still be here to tell my story.

When the name calling came, God kept me.
When the false posts were made, God kept me.
When people talked about me, God kept me.
When some prayed and waited for my downfall, God kept me.

And guess what? HE'S STILL KEEPING ME.

So I'm telling somebody during Su***de Prevention Awareness Month: DON'T YOU GIVE UP.

Keep on keeping on. Get the help you need. Talk to somebody. Don't be ashamed to seek professional help. Don't allow somebody's opinion to keep you silent or prevent you from getting the support you need.

Your darkest chapter does not have to be your final chapter.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it.” Philippians 1:6

I’ve been through it. I survived it. I have my mind back.
I'm still standing. And GOD IS STILL A KEEPER!

The 63-year-old Davis was convicted Monday of a single count of murder with a deadly weapon and could be sentenced to life in prison. The jury deliberated for less than 3 hours after a weekslong trial in Las Vegas.

After the verdict was read, Shakur’s sister, Sekyiwa “Set” Shakur, cried and hugged the prosecutors. Also in the courtroom was Davis’ son, who covered his face with one hand.

Education 101: Benton Harbor council-manager form of government

It’s very important that we understand the distinction between the city commissioners and city manager.

The commissioners ( keep in mind, the mayor is part of the commission) to govern. The city manager administers (Read Section 3.20 of the Charter which says the manager is responsible to the Commission for the proper administration of City affairs.)

So, for example, when a commissioner receives a resident complaint about trash, water billing, code enforcement, streets, or another administrative service, the general chain is determined based on the “charter”

Step 1. Resident → Commissioner → City Manager → Appropriate Department

Step 2. City Manager/Administration → Commissioner → Resident

The City manager operates independently of the Commission. The city manager is responsible to the Commission and implements the Commission's adopted policies, programs,etc.
