Assessment rolls provide funding for the various taxing jurisdictions. In addition to the County, there are nine (9) school districts, twenty (20) cities and the Northwest Arkansas Community College. All businesses and residents (exempt and non-exempt) are required to report their personal property for assessment each year before May 31. After May 31, a 10% penalty will be applied to late assessments, regardless of exempt status. As residents buy, sell and trade vehicles and residents move into, out of, or within the county, they need to notify the office of these changes as they occur.

The Assessor’s Office is tasked with the discovery, listing, and valuation of all real and personal property located within Benton County. Real property being real estate, and personal property being all other tangible property, both individual and business. We are also responsible for maintaining those records.
