Village of Berrien Springs job opening: Part-Time Campground Office Clerk

Shamrock Park Campground is seeking a dependable, friendly, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Campground Office Clerk, working approximately 30 hours per week.

What You'll Do:
▪️Answer phone calls and assist customers
▪️Make campground reservations
▪️Process payments accurately
▪️Provide excellent customer service
▪️Perform basic computer and office tasks
▪️Assist with other campground duties as needed

What We're Looking For:
✔️ Computer knowledge and basic office skills
✔️ Excellent customer service and communication skills
✔️ Friendly, professional, and dependable
✔️ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
✔️ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✔️ Willingness to assist with other campground duties
✔️ Must have a valid driver's license

Location: Shamrock Park Campground
Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week
Position: Part-Time

Main Street Fog Seal Update:

Fog sealing is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, August 12, weather permitting.

Berrien County Road Department crews will be applying a light spray to help seal and protect the roadway, extending the life of the recent chip seal.

Please remember:
🚗 Drive slowly through the work zone. Driving too fast through the fresh fog seal could cause the material to splash onto your vehicle.

We will continue to provide updates as needed.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation as we complete this important road maintenance project!

We've loved seeing so many families reconnect with these playground slats over the past pickups and hearing the memories they've shared. If you've been hoping to find yours—this is your last chance.

While we can't guarantee every original slat is still available, we'll do our best to help you find one.

If you know someone who grew up playing at Wolf's Prairie Playground or had a personalized slat, tag them or share this post so they don't miss the final pickup event this morning.

Main Street Fog Seal Update 🚧

The final step of the Main Street preservation project, fog sealing, is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, and Thursday, August 13, weather permitting.

During the fog seal application, Berrien County Road Department crews will apply a light spray to help seal and protect the roadway, extending the life of the recent chip seal.

Please remember:
Drive slowly through the work zone! Driving too fast through the fresh fog seal could cause the material to splash onto your vehicle.

If weather causes a delay next week, the work will be rescheduled for after the Berrien County Youth Fair. We will continue providing updates.

Progress Update: Grove Park Pavilion Rebuild

Great things are happening behind the scenes!

After one of the Grove Park pavilions was severely damaged during the May 2025 windstorm and had to be removed for safety, we're excited to share that the rebuilding process is underway.

This photo shows lumber currently being milled by Busch Construction, the contractor that will be constructing the new pavilion. It's an exciting first step toward bringing this beloved community gathering space back to Grove Park.

The Grove Park pavilions have been the backdrop for countless family reunions, birthday parties, picnics, and community gatherings over the years. We look forward to restoring this important gathering space and welcoming everyone back once construction is complete.

We'll continue to share updates as the project progresses. Thank you for your patience and support as we rebuild this valued community asset for generations to come!

🏛️ Help Preserve Berrien Springs History!

The Village of Berrien Springs is looking for community members to serve on the Historic District Commission.

If you live within the Village limits and have an interest in local history, historic preservation, architecture, or protecting the character of our community, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Commission:
✅ Five (5) members are appointed by the Village Council.
✅ A majority of members should have a demonstrated interest in or knowledge of historic preservation.
✅ If available, one member will be an architect licensed in Michigan or a graduate of an accredited architecture program with at least two years of architectural experience.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must reside within the Village of Berrien Springs.

How to Apply

The response to our slat pickup has been incredible! We've loved seeing so many families reconnect with a special piece of Wolf's Prairie Playground history, and we're thrilled that many have been able to find the slats they were looking for.
