This morning, we unveiled our 100th Anniversary mural at the Fillmore Center in Berwyn in partnership with Berwyn Public Art Initiative.
The mural was created by local Chicago artist Damon Lamar Reed, who has created more than 150 murals across the country. As part of mural creation, Damon ran a workshop with a few of our Behavioral Health clients to create magazine collages (based on the word "healing") that were used as inspiration for the final design. The original client artwork is now on display on the walls of the Fillmore Center.
This morning, we unveiled the mural to our staff, clients, partners, Board members, and community officials who came to celebrate with us. In addition to the new mural, everyone was invited in to see our walking timeline of our agency history. Thank you to everyone who came to see the mural and celebrate with us!

Program will include:
- Monday - Friday 1-hour Zoom meetings

Today was a day of reflection and action in Berwyn. Students from J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 and Youth Crossroads - YLP came together to learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and study public art as a tool for social change.
The end product will be a mural, created by the students and installed onsite at Youth Crossroads, Inc. that honors Dr. King's legacy and celebrates the cultural and racial diversity in Berwyn.
