Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs in or on an o***y. They usually form during ovulation, when the o***y releases an egg. They are usually harmless and go away by themselves. Most ovarian cysts are small and don't cause symptoms. If there are symptoms, they may include:

➡️ Bloating
➡️ Swelling
➡️ Pain in the lower abdomen, on the side where the cyst is

What is a CA-125 blood test?
This test measures the amount of a protein called CA-125 (cancer antigen 125) in a sample of your blood. High levels of CA-125 are often found in people who have ovarian cancer. A CA-125 blood test may be used:

➡️ To see if ovarian cancer treatment is working and to check for ovarian cancer that has come back.
➡️ To learn more about a growth or lump in your pelvis (the area below your belly).
➡️ To screen for ovarian cancer if you're risk is very high.

What are the symptoms of ovarian cancer?
Ovarian cancer may not cause early signs or symptoms. The signs and symptoms may include:

➡️ Pain, swelling, or a feeling of pressure in the abdomen or pelvis.
➡️ Sudden or frequent urge to urinate (p*e).
➡️ Trouble eating or feeling full.
➡️ A lump in the pelvic area.
➡️ Gastrointestinal problems, such as gas, bloating, or constipation.

What are the types of ovarian disorders?
Some problems that can happen with the ovaries can include:

➡️ Ovarian cancer
➡️ Ovarian cysts
➡️ Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS)
➡️ Primary ovarian insufficiency
➡️ Ovarian torsion
➡️ Endometriosis
➡️ Pelvic inflammatory disease
➡️ Ovarian tumors

What is ovarian cancer?
Ovarian cancer is a cancerous tumor that forms in the tissues of an o***y. Ovarian cancer happens when there are changes (mutations) in the genetic material (DNA). Often, the exact cause of these genetic changes is unknown.

➡️ Most ovarian cancers are caused by genetic changes that happen during your lifetime. But sometimes these genetic changes are inherited, meaning that you are born with them.
➡️ There are also certain genetic changes that can raise your risk of ovarian cancer, including changes called BRCA1 and BRCA2. These two changes also raise your risk of breast and other cancers.

How is chronic pain diagnosed?

What are painful periods?
Menstruation, or period, is normal vaginal bleeding that happens as part of a woman's monthly cycle.

➡️ Many women have painful periods, also called dysmenorrhea.
➡️ The pain is most often menstrual cramps, which are a throbbing, cramping pain in your lower abdomen.
➡️ You may also have other symptoms, such as lower back pain, nausea, diarrhea, and headaches.

What are the treatments for chronic pain?
Chronic pain is not always curable, but treatments can help. Treatments may include medicines, including pain relievers. Depending on the cause of your pain and your symptoms, your provider may also recommend lifestyle changes which may include suggestions for:

✅ Managing stress
✅ Getting to and staying at a healthy weight
✅ Adding low-impact exercise
