It's About the Economy and We're Not Stupid www.ConservativeLeagueNorthShore.com Occupy Wall Street, the Obama Administration and academics claim it’s the planned economy. James Bohn thinks they are wrong.

“Don’t Occupy, Liberate: Why Young People Should Love the Free Market”

What economic system is better for young people: free market capitalism or the planned economy? On June 14th, he’ll demonstrate that young people are happier, more optimistic about the future, and enjoy better career opportunities in societies in which government is smaller and economic outcomes are determined by individuals i

n the marketplace rather than through political processes. Dr. Bohn’s presentation will compare the situation of young people in the United States to that of young people in the welfare states of the European Union. As the size and scope of the public sector of the United States has grown, America is less the world’s bastion of free enterprise and is beginning to resemble the centrally planned economies of modern Europe. The lot of young Europeans today should provide young Americans with ample warning of what lies ahead on the path that liberals wish to take them. It is not a happy destination. Dr. Bohn is an economist with fifteen years of experience in industry and government. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Economics from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. He is currently working on his first book Generational Theft: How Politicians and Special Interests Are Stealing the Future of Young Americans.

In post-election analyses, the 11-point drop in the president's support among 18- to 29-year-olds indicates that particular voting bloc is falling away from Barack Obama on major issues.

Quick quiz: Who said this about Medicare? With an aging population and rising health care costs, we are spending too fast to sustain the program. And if we don't gradually reform the system while protecting current beneficiaries, it won't be there when future retirees need it. We have to reform Medi...
