Went to Longhorn Steakhouse in Jensen Beach, FL last night. Mounted on a prominent wall in the restaurant is this painting of Bill Pickett. Bill was one of the most famous 101 Ranch employees; The manager of the restaurant told me that the painting is in all their restaurants; The culture of the company is to respect the history of the old west.

From the 1890's until the 1930's it was common for railroads to offer special excursion trains to transport people from near by cities to the city or town where a circus or wild west show might be playing. Here are the only two examples of posters that we know that survive advertising an excursion train to the 101 Ranch Real wild West show. The Easton, PA show date shows that the 101 was playing on the same date as Ringlng in 1914. The second poster is for Lynchburg, Virginia in 1925.

Thanks to the 101 Ranch Oldtimers that erected the Marker to commemorate the White House on the 101 Ranch. The inscription reads (in part)

"Although nothing remains but the ruins of its foundation, the Miller family Mansion once stood here. Constructed in 1909 after the first stately wood frame home of Col. G.W. Miller, wife Molly, sons Joe, George, Zach and daughter Alma burned in January of that year. The family's new home was truly a Palace on the Oklahoma Prairie."
