Ground was broken today on the Birmingham Xpress project, a rapid bus system that spans 10 miles and run from Five Points West through downtown Birmingham to Woodlawn. It will connect 25 city neighborhoods and aims to be completed by summer 2022. It will be the first bus rapid transit system in Alabama.

“Simply put, Birmingham Xpress will be a connector for eastern and western neighborhoods to jobs, services and opportunities,” Birmingham Mayor Randall L. Woodfin said. “Providing reliable, efficient and alternative transportation options for our residents and visitors has been a priority. Birmingham Xpress will enhance public transportation for our residents and neighborhoods.”

Hello mister Quinn you're doing a wonderful job as city councilman leader for District 5.
GOOD MORNING COUNCILMAN O'QUINN!!
Fiction: Many believe that paper bags are more environmentally friendly than plastic bags because they are made from a renewable resource, can biodegrade, and are recyclable. Fact: Plastic shopping bags outperform paper bags environmentally – on manufacturing, on reuse, and on solid waste volume and generation.
Darrell, see if you can get Google, all online maps, to update aerial views of bridge closures, if possible. Thanks
