#NoExcuseAL #CAPCenterBham #NoExcuseForChildAbuseBham The Exchange Club Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse was formed through the dedication, support and committment of Alabama members of The Exchange Club, a National Service Organization whose primary focus is child abuse prevention.

In 1987, clients were able to receive services from the Parent Aide program in a office at Eastside Mental Health Center. Also in 1988, The Exchange Club merged with the local Parents Anonymous Chapter, which brought the establishment of a new program, Positive Parenting groups. In August 1988, the center started doing business as The Exchange Club Family Skills Center. In 2014, we began doing bus

The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for renters and landlords to cover housing costs. With the CDC moratorium ending on July 31, many renters are worried about catching up on past-due rent and facing eviction. As a renter—or a landlord—you can apply for money from the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program to help with rent, utility bills, and even moving costs. Use our new Rental Assistance Finder to find aid based on the state or territory or tribe or tribal lands where you live. Via Consumer Financial Protection Bureau https://go.usa.gov/xFWnK

One thing businesses, organizations, and agencies can do to prevent child abuse is to place sets of our fifty-one parenting tips bumper stickers on counters and tables where workers, customers, patients, and clients can help themselves. Parenting tips on vehicles will be read 1000s of times by 1000s of people of all ages for years to come! Also, businesses, organizations, and agencies can place the stickers on their fleet vehicles! Instead of a few human parenting educators in a community teaching poorly attended classes, every vehicle becomes a parenting educator doing its job day in and day out 365 days a year!! This is participatory parenting education and we hope it will be a game changer for the prevention of child abuse. Visit advancingparenting.org to read about what we do, why we do it, our big plans for the future, and how to order sets of the fifty-one parenting tips bumper stickers.
