BWWB (Birmingham Water Works) Project updates for Highland Park from a rep. from BWWB
“Hanover Circle main replacement project is expected to be finished from the Water Works’ stance by the end of July. There are some fire service tie-ins and domestic service tie-ins that will be complicated due to the facility (such as a retirement home, condo complex, etc.). The City of Birmingham will resurface Hanover Circle after we are complete. 11th Avenue South will be resurfaced by the Water Works.
Cliff Road / 33rd Street South main replacement project just started this week. The project is scheduled to take 2.5 months to complete. This is a turn key project including roadway resurfacing.”
I was also told they will then go to 32nd St. and then 34th St. to Altamont Rd.
I just spoke to the rep. who said that there have been some delays - specifically on the 11th Ave. S. project, but they hope to get back on that asap. I apologize I do not have better news or more specifics:/
BWWB Update: Main Replacement on Short Cliff Rd., 33rd St. S., 32nd St. S, and 34th St. S. Note from Mr. Miller (who I met outside of the Piggly Wiggly while waiting to hear from BWWB)...The project will attempt to have at least one lane open on the impacted streets. They will work on 33rd, then s...

FIDO Flagging and Bagging is back!
FIDO (Friends in Dog Ownership) will be placing flags next to dog piles starting tmrw (April 22). We will be collecting the flags and piles during our neighborhood cleanup on May 7th. We do this annually to bring attention to the problems of not scooping. It spreads bacteria, is too acidic to fertilize, carries a $100 fine for not scooping, and is just plain nasty.
Please leave the flags and signs in place. We have gotten city and neighborhood approval for this.
Let us know if you’d like to help with flagging or cleanup:) You can email us at [email protected].
Have a great day, neighbors!

We found this guy on Alden - Anyone know his home?
Do you know of anyone who could benefit from this?
As many people know, Rhodes Park is often used as a dog park. Is there a way to get a fenced in area for dogs to play at the park? I would be willing to donate to such a cause and am optimistic that others might also. Thoughts?
We still have not found the owner to this sweet boy. Please share until we find the owner. He didn’t have a collar when we found him so it is possible he needs a home!! Please share!!
