It is with great pride and enthusiasm to announce the promotion of Stephanie Walker to the role of Deputy Executive Director.
With over 26 years of distinguished service, Stephanie has brought unmatched expertise, professionalism, and leadership to the Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA). Her experience spans across critical areas including grant management, people operations, compliance, financial oversight, and strategic planning.
In her most recent role as Chief of Staff, Stephanie has been an indispensable partner and she has consistently demonstrated a keen ability to monitor performance, ensure accountability, and uphold the highest standards of integrity. She has worked directly alongside our CEO, Charlotte Shaw, to align operations with BJCTA’s strategic goals. Her deep understanding of organizational structure, policy enforcement, and mission-driven leadership has been instrumental in advancing key initiatives.
As Deputy Executive Director, she will continue to serve as a strategic extension of the CEO, helping to drive forward our agency's mission and vision with clarity, efficiency, and unwavering commitment. Her leadership will be vital as we continue to grow, evolve, and deliver impact across all areas of BJCTA.
