Hello everyone,
My colleague Kim Hager and I are interested in studying the experiences and barriers to accessing mental health services for families. For the purpose of our research, we intend to compare three groups – caregivers of children with one or more mental health conditions (including deelopemntal diagnoses), caregivers of children with mental health conditions and common medical conditions, and caregivers of children with mental health conditions and rare diseases. Caregivers include biological parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, step-parents, guardians and kinship homes with children under the age of 18. The survey is nationwide and open to families who live anywhere within the United States. The hope is the survey results will assist mental health providers in tailoring services to meet families’ needs. The study was approved by the IRB and survey is anonymous. Please help us by filling out the survey and/or sharing it.

This is JC Higginbotham, the 2009 State of Alabama Goodwill Ambassador. He was busy tending to his farm animals but he wanted to send a big Thank You to everyone who has and will support the MDA Shamrock program. God bless you and buy them and post them proud please! 🍀
We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support Guardian’s Inaugural Clays for a Cause Tournament today! Through this tournament we were able to raise money that will go toward research, screenings, and sending children to MDA Summer Camp! We are proud to support Alabama Muscular Dystrophy Association and the efforts they make towards care and research for those affected by neuromuscular disease. Special thanks to Lower Wetumpka Shotgun Sports Club for hosting and helping making this event a success!
The Muscular Dystrophy Association supports those with neuromuscular diseases such as Muscular Dystrophy and ALS. They raise money for medical procedures like newborn screenings and visits to MDA Care Centers, along with sponsoring kids to attend MDA Summer Camp. Funds from our Inaugural Clays for a Cause Tournament will benefit Alabama Muscular Dystrophy Association and their efforts to help those afflicted with neuromuscular disease. Visit

Thank you, Montgomery!! 🎉🙌🙏👍
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the citizens of Montgomery, Montgomery Fire/Rescue was able to present the Alabama Muscular Dystrophy Association with a total donation of $79,000! In our 21 year partnership with MDA, MF/R has donated over 1.4 million dollars. That’s absolutely amazing!!
Collections from the #filltheboot campaign totaled $73,100. Fire Chief Jordan raised $5,900 on his own through the “30 Days of Strength” campaign. Additionally, Mayor Stange donated $1,000 of his own money to allow us to present MDA with $80,000!! 👀🙌
These funds benefit families all over Alabama including right here at home. The donations allow children to attend summer camp, provide assistance to families dealing with treatment, and also go to research for new medications to treat muscular dystrophy.
Again, all of this is possible because of you, the citizens of Montgomery who give openly to such an amazing cause. Thank you!

How about a Chief climbing the 110’ aerial ladder?👀🚒
That’s exactly what District Chief Stuart (Car 34) did today at the Walmart on Ann Street while Truck 42 was #fillingtheboot for #MDA.
