This past weekend, we had the opportunity to set up at our largest event of the year, The P*e Dee Outdoor Classic hosted by the Florence Center, and it was absolutely fantastic!

We got to introduce so many people to some of the amazing ambassadors that make Black Creek Wildlife Center what it is. Momo the skunk, Clover the groundhog (who was, of course, a crowd favorite), all of our native pit vipers, and our birds of prey were all there to meet the public! 🦨🦅🐍

But honestly, one of the best parts of the entire weekend was seeing so many of our incredible volunteers come out and be a part of it.

I truly believe this was the most professional we’ve ever looked as a team. Everyone communicated with the public incredibly well, the animals did fantastic, and our volunteers were able to provide accurate, educational information while working with the animals safely and professionally.

That means a lot to us.

None of this would be possible without the amazing people who continue to give their time, energy, and passion to this organization. It can be difficult to put into words just how grateful we are to have built such an incredible team over the years—especially a team that believes in our mission just as much as we do.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. ❤️

🌿 Help Us Build the Next Adventure at Black Creek Wildlife Center! 🦉

We’re working toward a $3,250 goal to add a new nature trail & boardwalk for our community to enjoy Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays!

🌳 Trail mulching — $2,000
🪵 Boardwalk — $1,000
🪧 Directional signs — $250

We’ll keep our goal meter updated as donations come in so everyone can watch this project become a reality!

This trail is more than an improvement—it’s another step toward creating experiences that help our wildlife center become more self-sustaining and less dependent solely on donations long-term.

We need to purchase these THIS coming week.
One of the animals waiting for us to finish an enclosure is WAITING on us to get this step finished.
These two expansion panels, and door panel totalling $350 will act as a double entry way to ensure we are abiding by federal guidelines for the enclosure for this specific animal.

🚨 BLACK CREEK WILDLIFE NEEDS YOUR HELP. 🚨

Every single day, animals arrive at Black Creek Wildlife Center needing help. 🦉🦝🐢🦊🐍❤️

What you see pictured here is only a fraction of the animals currently in our care. Behind every face is an animal that needs food, medication, veterinary care, specialized supplies, enclosure space, and hours of daily care from our team.

And right now, the cost of caring for them is depleting our funding faster than we can replenish it.

While we continue to say YES to animals in need, more are coming through our doors every single day.

We desperately need our community’s help.

• Medications and rehabilitation supplies
• Food and specialized diets

Beavers will be moving outside in just one week to the great outdoors in a training habitat, they will stay there for over a year until they are considered an adult beaver who can then venture out on their own!
This is just a small glimpse into what your donations toward our facility make possible!
And, if you are wondering, one of these two happens to be the beaver that came in with 23 lacerations on his backside!

We’ve kept a secret! 🤫
A few months ago we jumped into action to help give a bobcat a home, after his owner of ten years passed away- this guy needed to find a place to live out his old age.
For the last few months, we were able to go retrieve the bobcat from the upstairs room where he had called home, transition him to outdoor life, help him through a gnarly tooth infection, and introduce him to his new large outdoor living space. This space is joined the current bobcat enclosure and if everything goes as planned they will be able to move through both freely and all together!

This was made possible by the owner, family and friends of the owner all helping to fund this enclosure for his future.

Just his enclosure when not opened to the larger community space is 10 feet tall, 50 feet long and ten feet wide.
