Happy REA Day! On May 11, 1935, President Franklin Roosevelt signed an executive order establishing the Rural Electrification Administration. A year later, Congress passed the Rural Electrification Act, and the lending program that became the REA got underway. Today, more than 900 electric co-ops serve 1 in 8 Americans across the country. We're so proud of our shared cooperative history, but even more excited for our future as electric co-ops continue to innovate and improve their communities - even in these uncertain times. #PowerOn
