We are hosting a Cat Adoption event next Saturday 7/18/2026 at the Bloomfield Civic Center! Meet our available feline friends and take one (or two) home the same day! Our kittens that have spent time in foster are now ready for adoption and will be making their debut too! Help us find them Furever Homes & make space in the shelter for cats that need our help!

A weather system is expected to bring heavy downpours and strong winds between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. today, with the potential for localized flooding and downed trees.

Heat Safety Reminders & Cooling Centers

An extreme heat warning is in effect through Saturday. With temperatures expected to exceed 90°F for the remainder of the week, residents are encouraged to take precautions to stay safe during the extreme heat.

• Stay hydrated
• Limit strenuous outdoor activity
• Spend time in air-conditioned spaces whenever possible
• Check on older adults, neighbors, and others who may be vulnerable to extreme heat

Bloomfield's Cooling Center is open at the Civic Center (84 Broad Street), Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Update: The Civic Center will now be OPEN on Friday, July 3.
