Happy Juneteenth from Good Trouble Little Free Library!

Last Saturday, June 13th, at Bloomfield's Juneteenth celebration, I was honored to distribute over 100 Black-authored, history and culture books for free to the Bloomfield community. I had a great time meeting everyone and seeing the shock on their faces when I said the books were free : )! Some folks also generously gave book and financial donations, and their contact information for me to pick up books. Thank you to everyone for your support and to all those that have donated books over the past year - your support made this day possible! It was a wonderful day!

Attended The NYU Stern Business & Society Program 2026 Sani Lecture Series featuring Bryan Stevenson, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative and author of the book "Just Mercy" (that was also adapted into a movie). It's been shared in the Good Trouble Little Free Library a few times.

His lecture was powerful and unapologetic. He discussed his journey (amazing), along with what we need to do to move forward in this horrible climate. He had me and others sitting on the edge of our seats!

How we move forward:
➡️ Be closer to the poor and marginalized so that we are creating laws that are just, fair and equitable.
➡️ Change and correct the narrative about Black people and those imprisoned unjustly
➡️ Be hopeful
➡️ Be willing to do uncomfortable and inconvenient things
