Society has been trained to hate dandelions by the lawn care chemical ☠️companies. We “greenies“ need to teach society that these “weeds“ are not so bad.

I'm a big fan of the movement towards "Meatless Mondays." One way we can all make a real positive impact is by completely eliminating animal products from our diets (and I emphasize this is just one way we can personally make a difference). It's a healthy choice for our bodies and for the survival of our species. The researchers in the new Biological Conservation paper outline four broad, global problems leading to insect loss. They won’t surprise you.
1. Habitat loss as a result of human development, deforestation, and the expansion of agriculture
2. Pollution, particularly via pesticides, fertilizers, and industrial wastes
3. Parasites and pathogens — like the viruses that attack honeybees — and invasive species
4. Climate change

When insects go extinct, other species follow.

First the giant bee, now this! Amazing!

As well as the Fernandina tortoise, another “giant” species thought to be possibly extinct showed up this year—Wallace’s giant bee.

Oh, this makes us so mad! “What we had here was a chop shop, but of beehives,” Torres said. “You had some beehives that were alive, and you had some hives that were dead. You had hives that were basically cut up: Tops of boxes were over here on this side of the field, and the other parts of the box are on the other side.”

Each year, millions of bees are trucked into California to pollinate almond trees. It’s big business, and thieves are taking advantage.

There's bees out there dis big?! Awesome re-discovery of the giant bee.

The bee towers over its apian cousins. Females have been recorded as being at least an inch and a half long. Add to that a pair of gigantic mandibles, and it's a bee like no other.
