Homebuyers must meet Lower Merion Township eligibility requirements, including income restrictions, acceptable credit and sufficient savings. A “soft” zero interest second mortgage will be placed on the property for the difference between the value of the property ($469,000) and the estimated affordable first mortgage amount ($250,000). Homebuyers must comply with program requirements and agree to resale restrictions.

When applications are reviewed, some preference is given to people who already live or work in Lower Merion, former township residents, military veterans, or are active Lower Merion volunteer firefighters.
