Blue Island’s Arbor Day Celebration was a beautiful experience. 14 Trees were planted on the grounds of Unlimited Potential/UP House (former Mother of Sorrows campus). With great gratitude for the collaboration of The Morton Arboretum/CRTI, Eisenhower High School Environmental Club, City of Blue Island Illinois, Blue Island Forestry Board, as well as the many wonderful neighbors and volunteers growing our community. Tree Cheers and tacos for all 🌳🌮🌳. *resident tree requests will be honored over the next week.

🌳 Blue Island Forestry Board – Arbor Day 2026 🌳

Join us in Blue Island as we celebrate Arbor Day with a community tree planting at UP House.

📅 Date: April 28, 2026
🕘 Time: 9:00 AM
📍 Location: UP House

We’ll be planting 14 trees to help create a more peaceful, private, and welcoming space for residents at Unlimited Potential, a program supporting young women through housing, education, and career training.

These new canopy trees will also help beautify one of the main entrance points into Blue Island.

No experience needed. All ages are welcome.
