Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day.
Today we should remember and honor all those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and may we never forget their courage.
May we remember the fallen service members and first responders today and everyday.

Some of our crews are working hard on the 40 hr Apparatus Operator Pumper class. It’s not just driving but the science of water hydraulics. But driving is the fun part!

We really enjoyed hosting Girl Scout troop 11610 at Station 1. FF/PM McDaris taught the girls some basic first aid and stop the bleed techniques. They also got a tour of all the equipment. Glad to have these future firefighter EMTs visit.

Firefighters Henderson and Jones spent the day at Carrier teaching a live fire extinguisher class. Every home should have fire extinguishers handy and every adult and should know how to operate them. Community outreach is part of our mission.

It’s hose testing time. Talk about a logistical nightmare. More than 18 engines need to be brought in and every length of hose tested. We do this without taking more than 1 engine per area out of service at a time. Each truck holds almost 2000 feet of hose and each length is inspected, numbered, pressure tested and put back. It takes almost 2 hrs to do each truck if it goes smooth. This will take almost 3 days. It’s all part of keeping us safe and compliant.
