The Garage Sale will open at noon today. Thank you for your patience. Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the killed officer.
Because of the situation in Bluffton, the garage sale will be delayed until noon. Please watch here for updates.
Our Garage Sale starts tomorrow so there is no Euchre but there is still bowling at the bowling alley tomorrow at 9:30
Bluffton Senior Center Annual Garage Sale, 132 N. Main St., Bluffton, 419-358-8971. Thursday, March 31, 9-6, Friday, April 1, 9-6, Saturday, April 2, 9-1, half-price day Monday, April 4, 9-1. Collectables, antiques, housewares, exercise and sports equipment, toys, games, puzzles, tools, small appliances, books, movies, music, decorations and much more.
The Bluffton Senior Center Garage Sale is made up of donated items from its members. Senior Citizens are often in a state of downsizing - from a house to an apartment, condo to assisted living, etc. The Senior Center is one place where they can pass on possessions and it helps fund the Senior Center, as the Garage Sale is a big money maker for the Senior Center. The Senior Center does not take clothing or shoes but the sale always has plenty of kitchen gadgets, collectables, decorations, tools, books, puzzles, music and movies. This year we have a lot of exercise and sports equipment as well. Whatever is left over will be half price on Monday until 1 p.m. when the volunteers come to clean up so the Center can get back to regular programs.
The Bluffton Pandora Shuffleboard Club would like to invite you to their first meeting of the year on Monday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Buckeye Park. New players are welcome to come and learn. All that is needed is a pair of tennis shoes and a willing attitude. If you would like more information, call Tonya at the Senior Center and she can put you in touch with someone.
The Community Meal tonight is bringing served by the United Methodist Church and they are having chicken and rice, rolls, green beans and green cake. Don't forget to wear your green.
Just a reminder that there will not be bowling tomorrow because of maintenance.

We did not get a response to our Chronic Pain Self Management class so we have rescheduled it to Mondays April 11 - May 16 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The class is free and covers subjects like dealing with frustration, fatigue, isolation and poor sleep, appropriate exercise for strength and flexibility, nutrition, medications and communicating effectively. If you would like to register or just have questions call Ashlin at 567-204-6947.
Because of the ice, there will not be any dominos today.
Because of the weather predictions for this evening, Western Square Dance has been canceled for this evening.
We have had a change in one of our day trips. Roscoe Village has decided not to run their canal boat during the week so we have canceled the trip to Roscoe Village and replaced it with Johnston Farm and Indian Agency on Friday, June 24. The farm is closer so the cost is less at $70 and the departure time is 8:45 a.m. The trip includes lunch, a canal boat ride and a tour of the farm. The day will finish with ice cream. Call the Senior Center or stop by to sign up.
Because of the weather report for Thursday, we are canceling the Community Meal this week. We just want everyone to be safe.
Are you missing the joy of traveling? It isn’t as easy as it use to be. Restaurants are closed or don’t have dinning in, hotels book early, sights have odd times or are closed. We can put the fun back into travel by doing all the work for you. The Bluffton Senior Center has some great trips planned for 2022. June 13 through the 18, we will be traveling with Country Travel Discoveries to see Vintage Illinois. We will visit the land of Lincoln, see a hand laid brick Route 66 and travel the Great River Road. A knowledgeable tour guide will be with us to answer questions and tell us all the interesting things we are seeing. This trip is six days long and includes 13 meals. Stop by the Senior Center for a full brochure.
On September 24, the Senior Center will be leaving the country! We are headed north to Canada. We will spend nine days in the Canadian Rockies visiting Banff, Lake Louise and much more. We will travel the Icefields Parkway, walk on a glacier and ride a boat on Medicine Lake to Spirit Island. From Jasper, we will take the majestic Rocky Mountaineer in Gold Leaf Service to Vancouver enjoying wonderful views along the way. This trip includes rides to and from airports, flights, train ride and 16 meals over 9 days. Call Tonya at 419-358-8971 for questions or stop by the Senior Center and pick up a brochure.
Sorry folks, there will be no bread again this week. Supply chain issues.
The Senior Center's monthly dinner meeting is Monday, February 14 at 12 noon. This month the meal is free! But reservations need to be made by TODAY so the caterer, The Dough Hook, can have enough food for all of us. Call us today if you want to come! We will have musical entertainment by Courtney McLaughlin.
The Senior Center is closed again today but thanks to my wonderful neighbor, I made it in today. I will be here for a couple of hours if you need anything. Just give me a call. I can answer one of your questions right now. I do not know who can come and dig you out. My neighbor is tired.
The Community Meal scheduled for Thursday, Feb 3 is canceled due to the coming storm.
We have been blessed with multiple donations of fabric over the past month and we cannot keep it all. Lots of cotton, some poly. Homespun and holiday fabric also available. One or two dollars a yard. Anything under a yard is 50 cents. Hours are Monday through Friday 9-4. 419-358-8971.
Today is the last day to sign up for the March 25 trip to Shipshewana to see the Amish musical Half-Stitched. The cost is $100 and is due tomorrow. We need to pay the theatre tomorrow and cancel any unclaimed seats so if you want to go, we need to know today.
Just a reminder that the Community Meal tonight at 6 p.m. will be drive thru only. They are serving potato bacon soup, crackers, roll, fruit cup and cookie

Thank you for all the help in selling the thread and bobbins. As you can see, all we have left is shades of red (there are two more boxes of red in the back). If anyone wants to make a deal on red thread, come and see me today.
The Bluffton Senior Center has been gifted with more thread and bobbins then we can use. Priced to sell at .50 each. Tell your friends who sew.
As of Thursday afternoon, all that is left is shades of red
There will not be a Community Meal this week. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We were not able to get the schedule out to the churches and organizations early enough that they could make plans and with the rise in cases, it is probably for the best. The next Community Meal will be January 20th.
The Senior Center will be closed tomorrow for the holiday but we still have lots of bread. If you are anywhere close this afternoon, please come in at pick some up. The rest will go out the back door at 3:30. Lots of English muffins, bagels and sandwich thins.
The Community Meal tonight will be served by Emmanuel UCC. The will have their crockpots out again so come and enjoy. They have take out container for those who wish to eat at home. Meal starts at 6 p.m.

It is not often that we get to celebrate a 100 birthday but today Roberta Knipp was in the Senior Center. She will be 💯 on December 22 so we celebrated a little early. If you see her, wish her a Happy Birthday!!
The Community Meal tonight will be served by St. Mary’s Catholic Church. They will have vegetable soup, rolls, apple sauce and brownies at 6 p.m. Take outs will be available.
The senior citizens are done making peanut brittle for the year. They made 441 pounds but more then half that is sold already at $8 a pound. They also made Hickory Nut Brittle! They made 23 half pound bags which are selling for $8 each, while they last.
