The Idaho State Fire Marshal's Office is searching for a Chief Deputy Fire Marshal. Successful candidates may be based in offices in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, or Idaho Falls. This position requires approximately 75% of travel throughout Idaho.

All State Fire Mashal’s Office staff participate in and coordinate with an integrated statewide system designed to protect human life from fire and explosions through fire prevention, investigation, public education activities, as well as aiding local fire agencies throughout the state.

Two of our investigators are currently receiving instruction in Marine Fire Investigations from the International Association of Arson Investigators at the Boise Fire Department Training Center.

This training will give them the skills and ability to effectively investigate boat/vessel fires that occur on Idaho’s many lakes and rivers. They will also be able to pass along valuable information to our team if the need arises.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Four people made it out of an RV fire near Coeur d'Alene Tuesday morning, but one woman who was living there did not survive.

Careless disposal of smoking material was to blame for an early morning fire in the Bayview area according to an investigator from the Idaho State Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire resulted in critical injuries to two occupants. The residence is a complete loss.

Many thanks to the lady deputy from Payette County Sheriff’s Office that came to my hour of need. After experiencing a blow out on my state rig, I found myself on the side of the road, in a bad location. She position her squad with its warning lights flashing, allowing me to change the tire safely. I also enjoyed the chat.

Payette Sheriff’s Office should be proud their dispatchers and deputies.
