As we enjoy this Memorial Day weekend with family and friends, Chief Daniel Haugen and the Bossier City Police Department ask our community to pause and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Big news for our community! Bossier City has been named the safest city according to a recent annual study. This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our local law enforcement and the entire community.
Police Chief Daniel Haugen said he is proud of his city, his department and the staff who work hard every day to keep residents safe. Their professionalism and service continue to make a positive impact across the city. “From top to bottom, Thank you, Haugen said”.

It’s been a busy and meaningful week for the Bossier City Police Department as we proudly participated in the annual Police Officer Memorial and the 2026 Special Olympics Torch Run.
This week gave us the opportunity to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities while also supporting the incredible athletes of Special Olympics and helping carry the Flame of Hope.
We are grateful to stand alongside our fellow law enforcement agencies, community partners, athletes, and citizens as we remember, serve, and give back. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our department and the communities we are honored to protect every day.

Today is a proud day for our department and our community.
On behalf of Police Chief Daniel Haugen, we extend our sincere congratulations to our six newest police officers on their successful graduation from the Bossier Sheriff’s Office Police Academy and their official swearing-in ceremony.
These individuals have demonstrated dedication, discipline, and a strong commitment to serving others. Their achievement marks the beginning of a meaningful career in public service, and we are confident they will uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
