You don't think about needing a notary until you suddenly, urgently, absolutely need one. Usually at 9 p.m. on a Sunday. Usually for a document that's supposed to be in someone else's hands by Monday morning. I've been there. So I went and became one.
After months of paperwork to get my own paperwork in order, I'm
officially open for business as a Washington-commissioned notary public.
Hanes Notary does two things:
📍 Mobile notarization across King and Snohomish counties — I
come to you. Your house, your office, the hospital, the coffee
shop down the street, wherever works.
💻 Remote online notarization for anyone in the country — your
document, my seal, a Zoom-like portal that's actually approved
by the State of Washington. Whole thing takes 10-15 minutes.
You can be in pajamas. I've seen worse.
What I notarize: affidavits, powers of attorney, travel consent
forms for kids, authorization letters, bills of sale — the
everyday stuff that just needs an official seal to make it count.
What I don't notarize: real estate closings (different cert I
don't carry), anything that requires legal advice (talk to an
actual lawyer), or immigration documents (Washington notaries
legally can't, and anyone who says otherwise is running a scam).
A few things worth knowing:
— I'm bonded and insured.
— Evenings and weekends available with a small surcharge.
— Same-day appointments when I can swing it.
— All fees are listed on the site. No surprises.
— And yes, Porter is part of the operation. He doesn't notarize,
but he greets every in-person client with appropriate enthusiasm.
