🚨 Nicor Gas customers — heads up 🚨

Your gas bill has already gone up, and another increase is being requested.

✔️ In November 2025, the Illinois Commerce Commission approved a $167 million Nicor Gas delivery rate increase, which is already affecting monthly bills.

✔️ Then in January 2026, less than two months later, Nicor filed for another $221 million rate hike. If approved, bills could rise again in the coming years.

✔️ Consumer advocacy groups are publicly criticizing the timing of this new request and urging regulators to reject it.

💡 Important: These increases are mostly in delivery charges, not the gas itself — which means bills can keep rising even if you use the same or less gas.

Consumer advocates expressed outrage with the move, calling on state regulators to reject the request, which comes only days after Peoples Gas filed for a $202 million rate hike on Monday.
