While the election did not go the way we had hoped, I am incredibly proud of the campaign we ran and the support we received throughout this journey.

I want to sincerely thank every person who supported me, welcomed conversations, allowed signs on your property, prayed for us, and believed in our vision for the future of the sheriff’s office. Your encouragement and trust meant more than words can express.

Congratulations to Sheriff Wimpee, and I wish him the very best as he continues leading the sheriff’s office forward.

As for me, my commitment to serving this community does not change. I will continue serving the people of this county the same way I always have, and I will trust God to guide whatever path comes next.

Thank you all again for your support, kindness, and belief in me throughout this campaign.

As Election Day approaches, we are still out in the community knocking on doors, listening, and having honest conversations with the people of Meade County.

One of the biggest concerns I continue to hear about is the unsolved case that has impacted our community so deeply. Families deserve answers, and our community deserves accountability. If this case remains unsolved in January, it will remain a top priority under my administration. We will not allow it to be forgotten or pushed aside. We will seek assistance from outside agencies and dedicate the time and resources necessary to pursue every possible lead until those responsible are held accountable.

I have also received many questions regarding the current special deputy program. Under my administration, these deputies would receive expanded training and clearly defined responsibilities. Public safety must always come first. Special deputies should not be handling high-profile investigations, engaging in pursuits, or responding to emergency calls alone without the proper level of training and oversight. Proper structure and accountability are essential to protecting both the public and the county from unnecessary liability.

Another major concern I hear regularly is speeding and traffic safety throughout Meade County. By increasing deputy presence on the road during every shift, we can better divide the call load and allow deputies to proactively work traffic enforcement between calls for service. Traffic enforcement is not just about writing citations — it is about preventing accidents, slowing dangerous driving, and making our roads safer for families and children in every part of the county. Years ago, areas like West Point and Muldraugh saw slower traffic because drivers knew law enforcement was present and proactive. We need to restore that visibility and consistency.

I look forward to earning your vote on May 19 for Meade County Sheriff. Together, we can bring stronger leadership, greater accountability, and positive change to our community.

With voting beginning tomorrow, I wanted to take a moment to reiterate the expectations I have for myself as your Sheriff.

One thing I strongly believe in is that the people of Meade County should always have access to their Sheriff.

Whether you have a concern, a question, or simply want to talk, you deserve to be heard.

Throughout my career, I have believed in being visible, being present, and being someone people feel comfortable approaching. That does not change with a title — it becomes even more important.

Visibility is not just about marked patrol cars on the road. It is about relationships. It is about trust. It is about showing up and being an active part of the community you serve.

I have always made myself accessible, and that will not change. I will continue showing up — at community events, in our schools, in our neighborhoods, and anywhere the people of Meade County need me to be present.

If we ask for your trust, then it is our responsibility to listen.

I will always show up for our community, our families, and our kids.

I humbly and respectfully ask for your vote on May 19 for Meade County Sheriff.

Most importantly, thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, encouraged me, prayed for me, shared conversations with me, and welcomed me throughout this campaign. The connections made and support shown during this journey have meant more to me and my family than words can fully express.

I am truly grateful for each and every one of you.

Strong leadership is about more than simply getting through problems. It’s about placing people in positions where they can succeed.

When deputies are supported, properly trained, and held accountable, they do more than just get by — they thrive. And when they thrive, they are able to serve the people of Meade County at a higher level.

That means stronger communication, quicker response, and a Sheriff’s Office that better serves every community across Meade County.

That is the kind of leadership Meade County can expect when you vote for Bric Pace for Sheriff on Tuesday, May 19.

Time for stronger training and stronger support for our deputies.

Law enforcement officers face difficult and unpredictable situations every single day. They deserve the best preparation possible before they ever hit the road.

Currently, much of the required training consists of annual in-service courses, range qualifications, driver training, and domestic violence training. While those are important, I believe we can and should do more to better prepare and support our officers.

Meade County is surrounded by agencies and training resources that we should be partnering with and utilizing more often. Ongoing hands-on training builds confidence, improves decision-making, and helps keep both officers and the public safer.

Our deputies should be fully prepared for situations such as traffic stops, emergency driving, threat recognition, vehicle approach tactics, and officer safety procedures. Every officer—full-time, part-time, or special deputy—should have access to consistent, high-quality training standards that help them succeed in the field.

This profession is challenging enough. We owe it to our officers, their families, and our community to provide the tools and training needed to do the job safely and effectively.

As Sheriff, I will work to develop a structured monthly training program for every employee of the Meade County Sheriff’s Office. Better trained and better supported deputies lead to better service for our community.

Vote Bric Pace on May 19 to bring progress, professionalism, and modernization to the Meade County Sheriff’s Office.

As this campaign nears to an end, I’ve reflected on why I chose to run for Meade County Sheriff. Early on, I connected with sheriffs across the region to gain insight, share ideas, and build relationships that will strengthen our department. One theme was consistent—successful agencies are built on strong leadership, proper training, and valuing their people.

In recent years, the Meade County Sheriff’s Office has seen significant turnover among deputies, staff, and bailiffs. While pay has improved, we know retention is about more than compensation—it’s about support, leadership, and opportunity.

My approach is built on five key principles:

• People matter – placing the right individuals where they can succeed
• Quality matters – maintaining high standards every day
• Training matters – preparing officers beyond the minimum
• Preparation matters – being ready before emergencies happen
• Teamwork matters – working together across all roles

Under my leadership, we will build a team-focused environment where employees are supported, trained, and equipped to do their jobs safely and effectively. I will stand with our staff and ensure they have the tools and leadership they deserve.

These principles will guide our office from day one.

I would be honored to earn your vote on May 19 for Meade County Sheriff. Thank you for your support.

Today was a great day connecting with our community.

I had the opportunity to attend the Opening Day ceremony at Flaherty Ballpark, and it was inspiring to see such a strong turnout. Watching so many young people enjoying our parks is a reminder of what makes this county special. It was also meaningful to reconnect with residents and speak with those I may have missed while we were out in the Flaherty area knocking on doors.

We were also honored to attend the first-ever car show at Rock Haven Baptist Church. For a first event, it was an incredible success—great cars, great vendors, and even better people. Most importantly, it gave me the chance to listen. Several of you shared concerns about safety on Highway 1638, and those conversations matter.

Let me be clear: my phone and my door will always be open. Your concerns are my priorities.

Addressing speeding will be one of the first actions of my administration. When we reduce speeding, we reduce accidents—it's that simple. By increasing deputy presence and strengthening partnerships with surrounding agencies, we can work together to make our roads safer for everyone.

I’m committed to listening, taking action, and serving this community with the dedication it deserves.
