God’s Word For Couples

Couples That Pray Together

Rejoice always, Pray Continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you
in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Prayer is powerful. And a family that prays together stays together. When a couple prays every
day and every night, God’s power will be strong in the marriage and in the family. Protection
from the wiles of the enemy will stand firm when the Spirit of God flows in the hearts of a
couple or a family.
Prayer opens the door to wonderful promises that God has for us.
During trials experienced in any family, prayer is essential to overcome them with diligence. To
learn from them that they need not to last for as long as we allow them. Proverbs 4:23 says;
Keep thy heart with all diligence.
When praying, the couple needs to clear their minds of their daily experiences and the hustle
and bustle of the day and give their full attention to God. Clearing the mind and giving all
attention to the prayer in conversation with the Lord takes you to His space and you are able to
leave behind all the cares of the day, and leave the world behind to allow God to rejuvenate
your mind, and heart. Like having a conversation with someone in front of you. God is there
listening, waiting to have time with you. He misses you because you have been so busy with
worldly things, He is waiting for His time with you.

Prayer with the supreme God is essential to your daily life. He is the only one who can help you
with your worries, your troubles. He loves to hear you praise Him for your good times. He
laughs when you laugh and smiles when you smile. And crying on His shoulders for the bad,
your tears weigh heavy on His heart. A Father of great compassion.
Together as a couple prayer is essential. Because the enemy attacks a marriage every chance
he gets. Together you can move mountains. As the Word says “Where two or three are
gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20. The prayer life
should not be a quick ok here it is got to go. It has to be sincere and heart felt that you know He
heard and will answer. Because with faith, all things are possible with God.

Father, we come boldly before you with faith in our hearts that you will step into our lives and our marriages and will strengthen our vows and our love and our families with your blessings and your promises you have for each of us each day we are given. I pray that we take conversation through prayer with you serious and that you will hear them and answer in your timing and in your will.
Bring us closer together and closer to you each day and each time we commune with you. For we cannot do anything without you. You are the glue that keeps us together.
Thank you for your patience and your loving kindness toward us that you are excited to hear from us and to speak with us through your Spirit. We love you Father and we love your Only Begotten Son Jesus, in His name. In Jesus name we pray.

God’s Word for Couples

Building Trust

The key to a good marriage is TRUST. Without it, there will be difficulties even for couples who are loving to each other.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will direct your path.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust is built over time. It does not happen over night. Trust begins during the courtship of a new couple who begin their journey together. Over time, the couple begins to see what the other is about. Their character, their spirit, their language, their attitude during good times and bad.
In proverbs it says to trust in the Lord with all your heart…. In a couple's relationship, the heart takes its time to make sure that trust is absolute before given to the other person. If trust is abundant, then they will each know they have found the one person they are with that will be there through all times. Good times, bad times, not so sure times. Times that will make it through thick and thin. Then they know that they can trust that person with their very lives, with the life of the family they intend on growing in the future.
With trust, you can move mountains. Trust builds faith. And when you have faith and trust in the person you are courting, you know that your future is a good promise.
As you put your trust in the Lord, you know that He will be the center of your union as a couple, in dating and in marriage.
A good relationship between a couple is to be Godly and wholesome. It is to be an everlasting covenant between the two, that respect and dignity is strong with them. In these times couples are using dating for the wrong reasons, and divorce becomes the norm in society today. The Bible says that a man is to be married to one woman. For God made Eve for Adam who was his partner for life. An example of the way it should be through all time.
Submitting to each other and staying faithful to the person you married, is what pleases God.
If trust is broken, the relationship becomes stagnant and troubles begin. And that could lead to a dissolution of the vows taken between the couple who put their trust in one another throughout their relationship.
Let God rule your Marriage. Your heart. Your home. And trust will never be broken. Learn to listen to one another. Learn to speak with respect to one another. And you will move those mountains in the way of a good relationship that was there in the beginning.

Father, help us to understand more the the true meaning of trust, and allow our faith in you be the example to trust and have faith in our marriages. Let us not forget that we put our trust in each other enough to become one in union, and that trust must not be broken under any circumstance, that we may please you and keep our covenant with each other. In Jesus name Amen.

Satan is not opposed to good morals.

He’s opposed to Jesus Christ.

Read that again because most Christians miss this completely.

Satan doesn’t care if you’re a “good person.” He doesn’t care if you volunteer at the food bank, recycle your trash, and help old ladies cross the street. He doesn’t care if you’re kind, generous, and well-liked by everyone in your community.

He cares that you don’t bow the knee to Jesus.

Here’s the deception that’s damning millions:

Satan has convinced people that morality equals spirituality. That being a “good person” is the same as being a Christian. That if you just live right, treat people well, and avoid the “big sins,” you’re acceptable to God.

This is a lie straight from the pit of hell.

The Pharisees had impeccable morals. They followed the law meticulously. They were respected, disciplined, and religiously devoted.

Jesus called them children of the devil.

Why? Not because their morals were bad. Because their morals replaced Christ.

Satan’s greatest trick isn’t making bad people worse. It’s making good people think they don’t need a Savior.

Think about it:

The atheist who feeds the homeless thinks he’s good enough without God.

The Buddhist who meditates and practices compassion thinks she’s enlightened without Christ.

The Muslim who prays five times daily thinks he’s righteous without Jesus.

The moral Christian who goes to church, pays his tithe, and avoids scandal thinks he’s saved without surrender.

All of them are headed to the same place: eternal separation from God.

Because morality doesn’t save. Jesus saves.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

Satan loves moral people who reject Jesus. They’re his best advertisement for the lie that you can earn your way to heaven.

They’re living proof that you can:

•Be kind without Christ
•Be generous without God
•Be disciplined without the Holy Spirit
•Be respected without redemption

And still be lost.

The most dangerous people in hell won’t be the murderers and rapists. They’ll be the moral, upstanding citizens who thought their goodness was good enough.

Their morals became their idol. Their goodness became their god.

And Satan smiled because he’d accomplished his goal: Keep them from Jesus.

Here’s what most Christians don’t understand:

Satan doesn’t need to make you do bad things. He just needs to keep you from doing the ONE thing that matters: surrendering to Christ.

If he can get you to:

•Trust your morals instead of Christ’s sacrifice

•Rely on your goodness instead of God’s grace

•Believe in your works instead of Jesus’ finished work

He’s won.

You can live a moral life and still die lost. You can be a good person and still face judgment. You can avoid all the “big sins” and still end up separated from God forever.

Because the only sin that damns you eternally is rejecting Jesus Christ.

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36

Not the murderer who repents and believes in Christ is damned.

Not the thief who turns to Jesus on the cross is damned.

Not the pr******te who washes Jesus’ feet with her tears is damned.

The moral, religious person who rejects Christ is damned.

That’s why Satan loves morality without Jesus. It sends people to hell with a smile on their face, convinced they were good enough.

Stop trusting your morals. Start trusting Jesus.

Your goodness won’t save you. Your works won’t redeem you. Your morality won’t justify you.

Only the blood of Jesus Christ can wash away your sin and make you acceptable to a holy God.

Everything else is just Satan’s distraction from the one thing that actually matters.

Psalm 94 O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, shew thyself.

2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.

3 Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?

4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

5 They break in pieces thy people, O Lord, and afflict thine heritage.

6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.

7 Yet they say, The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye be wise?

9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?

10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know?

11 The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law;

13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.

14 For the Lord will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

15 But judgment shall return unto righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.

16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

17 Unless the Lord had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.

18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O Lord, held me up.

19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?

21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.

22 But the Lord is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.

23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.
