Well, one more addition to our growing community. The contractor has placed fencing around the future Busey Bank site, so we'll soon see dirt moving and construction beginning.

I'm glad to see this process has finally come to to fruition - it will pave the way for Rantoul to continue growing.

Since 1993, however, a three-story, 1,000-man dorm and three smaller dorms have sat vacant, slowly deteriorating to time.

*** ROAD CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT ***
We are making good progress on the force main east of Murry Road, and we will need to close the intersection of East Ave. and Grove Ave. starting Monday, March 31, 2025 at 8 a.m. for the manhole tie-in. To be safe, we expect a 2-week closure, but we hope for this work to be completed by Friday, 4/4. We plan to saw-cut the trench area only and pack it back with rock. The concrete paving will be completed once the pipe section is tested later this spring.
