This past week marked the official 10th Anniversary of Camarda Training and Consulting LLC.

I owe many thanks to the folks who helped get us here.

To my brother Ken Camarda, helping with us getting a domain name and email services. That’s stuff is out of my wheelhouse, but he got us through.

To my nephew Curt, he designed our emblem that we use. Curtis provided 8 variations, and it was our godchildren Emily & Aidan who made the final selection. I am blessed to have had family involved in the formation of the business.

To our customers, without them, well we wouldn’t be. We worked for fire companies and departments, local municipalities, county government agencies and the federal government too. A big shoutout to the members of the Jefferson Fire Company No. 1, our first customer. I am forever grateful.

To my friend and brother Sal Bello, his law firm’s legal expertise navigated us through that quagmire of red tape to get us legal. Grazia Sal.

To Bill Sr., Bill Jr., Elise, Monica and all the rest of the staff at Conlins Copy Center. These folks prepare our training manuals, strategic reports and other printed needs. Thank you for the quality work, and always being extremely professional and personable.

To the many team members or subject matter experts who provided input or worked on our projects, I am blessed to have you with me on this journey. Eamon Brazunas, Ken Battin, Dave Mrochko, Tom Fulmer, Jim Staufenburg Tom O’Donnell, Blaine Leis and Matt Wiedenhaefer. Thank you for your contributions.

To my friend and other brother from another mother, Tony Capone, one of the smartest and wisest people I’m proud to call my friend. Thank you Tony for all of your support and guidance, I am forever grateful.

The most important shout out goes to the one person that inspired me, nudged me and was by my side from the first discussion, my wife, Helena Salkowski Camarda. Sweetheart, I could never have done this without you. You were my strength when Covid crushed us, you kept me sane when the workload was extreme, and researched items when I stalled out. Thank you for everything. I love you.

I’m sure my advanced age will have me forgetting someone, I sure hope I didn’t. If so, I apologize.

Anyway, it has been a great journey providing our services, and although I don’t know how much longer we will proceed, I am glad I took the chance on the American dream.

Someone I missed. Susan Springmeyer Howe OMG how did I forget you. The one individual who helps keep us out of IRS jail. Thank you so very much and my deepest apologies for the slight.

ICS-300 is a wrap. The past three days, Camarda Training & Consulting had the pleasure to present FEMA’s Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents Course to 8 staff of the US National Park Service. The attendees serve as, Park Rangers, including the Chief Ranger & Supervising Ranger, the Facilities Management Director, the Volunteer Coordinator, Public Information Officer and other staffers.

The intensive and activity filled class provides guidance for the students on establishing Incident Command Systems for large expanding incidents. Attendees methodically develop real life Incident Action Plans for simulated incidents and events. They also participated in a mock operations period briefing and prepare a demobilization plan for unneeded resources. This training will come in handy, as the park prepares for upcoming country’s 250th, and the parks 50th anniversary events.

We thanks Valley Forge National Historical Park for sponsoring this most important topic, as well as selecting our staff to present it. We thank Chief Ranger Minnich for the awesome Challenge Coin, we will display it proudly.

This was the first time we’ve presented a federal program to federal government staff.
