Today (July 19, 2017), on the one-year anniversary of Jack’s death, we honor him with the launch of The Jack Strong Foundation. Jack had an enormous heart full of kindness. He visited and encouraged other children in the hospital, sharing smiles and delivering hope. He brought communities and thousands of people from all over the world together with his journey, and for this reason, we honor his

legacy and continue to fight. When Jack was diagnosed in 2013, we discovered the impact that treatment for pediatric cancer can cause a family emotionally and financially. Families find that their regular income has to be reallocated on things like medical expenses, medications that aren’t covered by insurance, lodging, and travel expenses. The Jack Strong Foundation seeks to continue his legacy through fundraising efforts that support families who have been impacted by childhood cancer by assessing needs and providing financial aid and awareness. When you visit, jackstrong.org, you’ll find personal stories, photos and video, coverage of families The Jack Strong Foundation is supporting, and resources on childhood cancer statistics and treatment. You can safely and securely purchase t-shirts and bracelets in our online shop, share your Jack Strong story, or donate to the foundation. The Jack Strong Foundation is a 501 c3 non-profit organization and is governed by both state and federal law. All donations are 100% tax deductible, and will help children and their families who are fighting cancer every day. We are 100% volunteer based. Each dollar that you donate goes directly into The Jack Strong Foundation to fund our programs.

Many children fighting cancer need blood and platelets regularly, sometimes multiple times a week.

Children often experience low energy, and bruise easily. After a transfusion, their color returns, they are bright eyed and once again have renewed energy. It truly can be life changing.

Cancer and cancer treatments can put patients at risk for low red blood cell and platelet counts. Some types of chemotherapy can damage bone marrow, lowering the production of red blood cells and platelets. Cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma attack the bone marrow as well. Blood and platelet transfusions can enable patients to receive critical treatments needed to fight and survive cancer.

Covid made the demand for blood even more crucial. When blood donations decreased, the blood supply decreased tremendously.

Every 30 seconds...... someone in the U.S. needs blood.

By making a donation, YOU could potentially save 3 lives.

BE A HERO ! PLEASE donate if you are able.

NEUROBLASTOMA

Neuroblastoma is a cancer often found in the small glands on top of the kidneys (adrenal glands). It can develop in the belly, chest, neck, pelvis, and bones. Children ages five or younger are most commonly affected. But it can also affect older children.
Neuroblastoma can cause many different signs and symptoms. Below are common symptoms. Children could show one, or several of these.
Please be aware that Neuroblastoma mimics many other common childhood illnesses. In many cases, when a child shows one of these symptoms, a common illness is all it is. But it is always in your child’s best interest to talk to their doctor about any questions and concerns you may have when your child is ill. Expand your awareness and know what to look for.

*Lump or swelling in the child's abdomen or neck that doesn't seem to hurt
*Swelling of the legs or upper chest, neck and face
*Enlarged belly
*Problems breathing or swallowing
*Weight loss
*Not eating or complaining about feeling full
*Problems with bowel movements or urinating
*Pain in bones
*Lumps or bumps in the skin that may appear blue
*Drooping eyelid and small pupil (the black area in the center of the eye) in one eye
*Problems being able to feel or move parts of the body

Ten years ago today, our hearts were forever changed when we lost our precious Jack to neuroblastoma.

Jack was so much more than the brave little boy who fought cancer. He loved LEGOs, he loved life, and most of all, he loved his mom. Even while facing the biggest battle of his own life, Jack’s heart was always focused on others. He found joy in comforting other children who were fighting alongside him, offering kindness, friendship, and hope when they needed it most. That was simply who Jack was.

Nine years ago, we created The Jack Strong Foundation to carry on that same spirit of love, compassion, and hope. Through the foundation, Jack continues to touch the lives of children and families facing childhood cancer—just as he did during his own journey.

Ten years have passed, but there isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t miss his smile, his laughter, and the light he brought into this world. His legacy reminds us that even the smallest hands can make the biggest difference.

Thank you to everyone who has walked beside us, supported The Jack Strong Foundation, and helped us honor Jack’s life over the past nine years. Because of you, his love continues to reach children who need it most.

Today, we remember our sweet boy. We celebrate his courage, his kindness, and the beautiful legacy he left behind.

Forever Jack Strong. 💛

Tomorrow we’re saying peace out to Teddie’s port! ✌🏻

We’d love for you to join us in praying for a smooth procedure, quick healing, and peace over our family.

This isn’t the end of Teddie’s journey, but it is a milestone we’re so SO thankful for and it’s a beautiful reminder of how far God has brought her. She’ll still have monthly lab draws but without active treatment or infusions, her port could carry more risk than benefit.

As always, thank you for praying, encouraging, and walking alongside us. It’s been such a big week for our girl and we can’t wait to celebrate this milestone. ✨
