UPDATE!🚨
Sheriff Michael Donato and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office announce that, through the course of its investigation, two additional individuals have been identified as operating ATVs and dirt bikes unlawfully on Saturday, August 15. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the community for the information and cooperation that assisted in identifying these operators. This investigation remains active, and additional updates will be provided as further individuals are identified.

In a separate unrelated incident another individual has been identified as operating an ATV unlawfully, resulting in an arrest and an impound on August 27th, 2026. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

Today, Sheriff Michael Donato and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office had the privilege of welcoming 26‑year‑old Alex Mann from Malvern, PA. Alex travels the country visiting police departments to show support for law enforcement and to educate communities on autism awareness. Our agency was honored to be his 540th stop on a journey that has already taken him across five states.

During his visit, Alex spent time learning about the many responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office. He observed a K9 demonstration, toured our Judicial Division, explored our various response vehicles and specialized equipment, and enjoyed a motorcycle demonstration from our officers.

Alex’s enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication to spreading autism awareness made today a meaningful experience for everyone here at the Sheriff’s Office. We thank him for taking the time to visit us and for the important work he continues to do across the country.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the Millville Police Department are aware of numerous operators operating ATVs and dirt bikes unlawfully in the Fairfield and Millville areas on Saturday. Some riders have already been identified, and motor vehicle summonses and criminal charges are forthcoming.

We will continue to monitor social media to search for additional evidence.
