The Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Department is dedicated to providing year-round recreation and leisure opportunities for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Therapeutic Recreation (TR) is a cooperative effort between the Somerset County Park Commission and the following participating municipalities:

Bedminister Manville
Bernards Township

Montgomery
Bernardsville North Plainfield
Bound Brook Raritan
Branchburg Somerville
Bridgewater South Bound Brook
Green Brook Warren
Hillsborough Watchung

TR provides year round recreation programs to children and adults with developmental disabilities residing in participating municipalities.

June brings one of my favorite programs of the year when we can give back to the Somerset County Park Commission for all their generosity. Tonight our families made paper flowers that will be displayed this weekend at our annual Rose Day Festival. If you’re looking for something fun to do come check it out!

The end of the school year is always bittersweet for many. For this crew from Bridgewater Raritan HS it is a sense of accomplishment. Today was no different as we ran one final field day for all the classes that visit us over the month. It’s safe to say everyone had a blast and the weather was amazing! This program would not have been possible without our amazing TR volunteers!
