TRAFFIC UPDATE: We will have the third stage on the I-96 project from US-23 to Kensington Road starting Monday August 24th.

Beginning Monday, August 24th, eastbound I-96 will be closed nightly from US-23 to Kensington road along with the northbound and southbound US-23 ramps to eastbound I-96 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for road resurfacing.

Traffic will be detoured nightly from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM to the following morning to take southbound US-23, Lee road, northbound Whitmore lake, eastbound Grand River avenue, Kensington road, to eastbound I-96. Eastbound I-96 nightly closure for this segment is expected until Friday September 4th at 5:00 a.m.

TRAFFIC UPDATE: As part of a concrete patch project on eastbound and westbound I-96, MDOT will have the following lane closure:

Beginning Friday, August 21st at 6:00 p.m., eastbound I-96 from
M-59 to D-19 will have a double right lane closure until Monday August 24th at 6:00 a.m. This will the second of four weekend closures on both bounds of I-96 to complete the project.

TRAFFIC UPDATE: To repair some damaged guardrail on eastbound I-96, as part of the I-96 reconstruction project, MDOT will have the following lane closure:

Saturday, August 8th from 8:00 am. to 3:00 pm., eastbound I-96, west of Latson Rd. will have a double lane closure. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on eastbound I-96.

Beginning Friday, August 7th at 6:00 p.m., eastbound I-96 from

DATE UPDATE: We will have the first stage on the I-96 project from Kent lake road to US-23 starting Monday July 27th.

Beginning Monday, July 27th, westbound I-96 will be closed nightly from Kent Lake road to Kensington road from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. for road resurfacing. Traffic will be detoured to exit westbound I-96 at Kent lake road, utilize westbound Grand River Ave, to Kensington road., and back on westbound I-96. Westbound I-96 nightly closure for this segment is expected until Friday August 21th at 5:00 a.m.

TRAFFIC UPDATE: We will have a significant stage change on Monday July 20th on the I-96 from Chilson road to Dorr road project.

Beginning Monday, July 20th at 6:00 a.m., the westbound I-96 off ramp to Latson road will be closed for 18 days. Traffic will be detoured to continue on westbound I-96 to D-19, Exit 137, for Grand River Ave and Latson road access. The westbound I-96 ramp to Latson road is expected to re-open to traffic by August 6th at 11:30 p.m.

TRAFFIC UPDATE: We will have a significant stage change on Monday July 13th.

Beginning Monday, July13th at 9:00 a.m., the eastbound I-96 off ramp to Grand River Ave will be closed for 50 days. Traffic will be detoured to continue on eastbound I-96 to Spencer Road, Exit 147, Spencer Road, to westbound I-96, and exit to Grand River Avenue.
The eastbound I-96 ramp to Grand River Ave is expected to re-open to traffic by September 4th at 5:00 p.m.

TRAFFIC UPDATE:

THIS CLOSURE WILL OPEN 7 DAYS EARLIER THAN ANTICIPATED, TOMORROW JULY 10TH BY 3:00 PM

We will have a significant stage change next week.

Beginning Tuesday, June 16th at 7:00 a.m., westbound Grand River Avenue will be completely closed between the eastbound I-96 on ramp and I-96. Westbound Grand River Avenue traffic will be detoured along eastbound I-96 to the Spencer Road interchange and back on westbound I-96 to Grand River Avenue. Two lanes of traffic will continue to be maintained along eastbound Grand River Avenue and all ramps will remain open as well.

Westbound Grand River Avenue is expected to re-open to traffic by July 17th at 5:00 p.m.

TRAFFIC UPDATE

Westbound I-96 will have a double lane closure at Chilson Road tomorrow, May 29th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for barrier wall maintenance.

Please continue to drive carefully through the workzone.
