New round-about added to the trail over the past weeks. Residents have requested to have a place where they can pass others with dogs and feel a bit more comfortable doing so. This is one of two round-abouts that will be built this winter.

FINAL SNAKE ID SESSION of 2022!! Morning communities, I am looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night for our last Virginia Snake Identification session of 2022!! I hope to see you there!!

Virginia Snake Identification Overview and Discussion

Thursday September 22nd, 6:30p, Hampton Inn, Gainesville
7300 Atlas Walk Way, Gainesville, Virginia, 20155

This session is to provide our communities with information about local native snake species and how to accurately ID them safely. "Not every snake with a pattern is a Copperhead!"

During this session individuals will learn about the most common species of snakes found in the NOVA area, how to accurately identify them and how they play an important role in our environment. Individuals will also be able to see these amazing animals up close on display and even handle a few of our ambassadors!

We will also discuss some "DIY" best practices of how to limit snakes from coming into your yard/house. There will also be a demo on how to remove a snake/reptile from a sticky trap and a quick review of the equipment used in the field.

If interested in attending, you can RSVP to Bill Crisp either by FB Messager or texting directly to 571-921-5771 or just show up! Event fee is $15 per person that can be paid via cash, check, Venmo, PayPal and paid at that event. All proceeds go towards the program and other local conversation work.
