Might be a meeting you want to attend. I don’t think that all of us see this as a ridiculous claim, like Sara Monty does, seeing that he is pushing for low income housing in Brookfield while sitting on a board of Family Promise of Waukesha.

There is a School Board meeting tonight starting at 6pm. According to the agenda, there will be a discussion on the 100 million dollar referendum that administration is proposing with possible action occurring in July. The meeting will be at the district office on Calhoun.

Local government decisions matter. Do you trust that our district is being fiscally responsible? Has the district been fully transparent about the true long-term costs of the referendum? Is this level of spending truly necessary to address the fundamental needs that create a high-quality learning environment, or have significant funds been allocated to projects that are more about appearance and amenities than educational priorities?

It is with deep sadness and profound respect that we share the passing of retired City of Brookfield Police Chief Jerome "Jerry" Wolff. Chief Wolff served the City of Brookfield Police Department, starting as a police officer in 1958 and eventually serving as Chief of Police from 1974 until his retirement in 1994. Chief Wolff was an accomplished and dedicated policing professional. His leadership and commitment to selfless service helped shape the City of Brookfield Police Department, enhance public safety, and set an outstanding example for future generations.

Can I ask what is the ROI on a $6.6M turf field at Worth Park when the city has a revenue short fall? Again the city doesn’t seem to have a revenue problem, it seems to have a spending problem.

Tomorrow there is a special Common Council meeting being held at 6:30 at city hall.

This was an expected special session that needs to occur due to council meeting scheduling and to reduce any uncertainty around the city's debt issuance and its timing around the next meeting of the Federal Reserve.

There are two items on the agenda. The first resolution awards the sale of $9,125,000 in general obligation
promissory notes. This debt issue finances various bike path improvements; Library roof repair replacement; various improvements at Wirth Park; Highway heavy equipment acquisition; storm sewer construction; dredging of Rolling Meadows Park retention pond; railroad quiet zone improvements; Brookfield Road repaving and improvements; and water main construction.

The second issue (taxable notes) and resolution funds the Wirth Park turf project for an estimated $6,640,000 which includes funding of issuance costs, and is subject to change based on actual premium bid by the successful underwriting syndicate.

There will still be a public comment section at the beginning of tomorrow's meeting.

Using his partial veto authority, the governor took what was originally a short-term school funding increase and turned it into a policy lasting until the year 2425.
It is important to understand what this means as the Elmbrook School District is going to be proposing a referendum somewhere between $85-105M. Use this tax calculator to see what your taxes might look like in 2030.
