I want to take a moment to publicly thank Brother Dale Davis for the incredible service he provides to the people of Poinsett County.
Brother Davis volunteers his time every day to oversee our faith-based volunteers, offering spiritual encouragement and educational programs to employees and inmates. He is there to help with births, hospitalizations, and deaths, ensuring that the needs of those who work for us and in our care are acknowledged and addressed with compassion and respect.
Most importantly, Brother Davis goes above and beyond to assist those struggling with drug addiction, mental illness, and other challenges faced by detainees. He collaborates with our deputy prosecuting attorneys, judges, and partner organizations to connect individuals with the support they need.
We are incredibly fortunate to have resources like Drug Court and Veterans Court in our community, thanks in large part to the leadership of Judge Ron Hunter, Judge Skip Mooney and Judge Scott Ellington. These programs give willing individuals a real path toward recovery and a fresh start, and Brother Davis plays a vital role in guiding them toward those opportunities.
Brother Davis does all of this without pay. His selfless commitment to others embodies the best of public service and faith in action. Because of his work, many lives are being touched, and the goal of reducing recidivism and helping people start new, better lives is becoming a reality.
