Also here's a page that tracks the history of our community board committees. See
Also it appears that we cannot post images to the community board page. I see this message "The privacy settings for this post prevent you from sharing it to this Timeline."
Please see the NYC.GOV calendar and meetings page for Brooklyn Community Board 3. It appears we are putting calendar in the meetings page. See https://www1.nyc.gov/site/brooklyncb3/meetings/calendar.page and https://www1.nyc.gov/site/brooklyncb3/meetings/meetings.page Can we be consistent and put the monthly events in the calendar page? Who makes the update? I would volunteer to help with this. Thanks!
And here's some feedback on the events. It would be helpful if we could see the questions that people are posting. Instead of only sending the questions to the host, it should be visible to everyone.
Thank you for the PERIODIC INSPECTION OF GAS PIPING SYSTEMS event. Where is the video of the event? Also could we have the calendar for upcoming committee meetings? It appears to be very old on the NYC site. See https://www1.nyc.gov/site/brooklyncb3/meetings/calendar.page For a direct link to the law that imposes this inspection and fine on homeowners seehttps://www1.nyc.gov/assets/buildings/local_laws/ll152of2016.pdf It would be very helpful if the department of building could give us the address of all buildings where the inspection applies. And also have the department of buildings directly communicate by mail to the homeowners. So far, there has been no direct communications. If the department of buildings does not have a list of addresses then how will they enforce this law?
We need a 912 Number for an Advocate/Guardian to show, uniforned though without any weapons, to act as an trained on the spot Mediator. NJ has had Mediation Court before you actually go to court, to work out non-violent and non-serious/criminal offenses, as an example. We need Street Mediation!
To Whom It May Concern: We are a team affiliated with the New York City College of Technology and the Magnolia Initiative that is studying the effects of heat waves and the urban heat island effect in Bedford-Stuyvesant. We hope to better understand which specific areas within New York City, and particularly in the neighborhood of Bedford-Stuyvesant, are most affected by high temperatures. We have crafted a community survey about heat wave experiences that can be completed in less than 10 minutes. As a valued Bedford-Stuyvesant community member, we believe that you should be invited to participate in this survey. By completing this survey, you are helping us improve our understanding of heat wave impacts and experiences within these communities, and we hope that our research can help improve community response to heat wave preparedness, recovery, and resilience in addition to science education and engagement. We would greatly appreciate you taking the time to complete the survey, for which the link is included below: https://bit.ly/UHIE_BedStuy_Survey Disclaimer: When completing this survey, please provide information that is true and correct to the best of your knowledge and belief. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this survey, please contact us at [email protected]. Thank you so much, and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, The Remote Sensing of Earth System Sciences (ReSESS) Center Team New York City College of Technology The City University of New York Our page: shorturl.at/isEFS
Why is the community tolerating the continued employment and promotion of someone who refused to follow proper procedures when notified on several occasions that a student was bringing a knife to school and threatening to harm other students then lied about it? City investigators have recommended Ms. Cardid Caro's termination but Brooklyn North Executive Superintendent Karen Watts has maintained it. As a result of Ms. Caro's negligence, in 2017 in the Bronx, a young male black student was fatally stabbed in a classroom in front of his peers and his friend was seriously wounded trying to intervene in the attack. This was avoidable if proper procedures were followed by getting the young man who did the stabbing help. Now, he is serving a 15-year sentence in prison, a young man is dead, their families are dealing with the tragic lost and their classmates traumatized while Ms. Caro remains employed and promoted without apology or consequence for her egregious inactions and actions. What can the children of Brooklyn look forward to with her as an instructional lead?
