COL Eluyn Ginés Welcome to the official page of COL Eluyn Ginés, Garrison Commander, Fort Hamilton, U.S. Army. Colonel Eluyn Ginés was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

He is a Distinguished Military Graduate of the ROTC program from the University of Puerto Rico and commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Chemical Branch in 1989. Colonel Ginés holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the Bayamon Central University, Master’s Degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma (Sooners) and Master of Science Degree in National Resource Strategy from National Defense University. His military education includes the Chemical Officer Basic Course, Adjutant General Advanced Course, the Combined Arms and Service Staff School, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and Industrial College of Armed Forces. Colonel Ginés has served in a broad range of command and staff assignments including the Chemical Offi cer and Battery Executive Officer, 3-8 Field Artillery Battalion during Desert Shield and Desert Storm - Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Battalion S1 and Company Commander, Indianapolis Recruiting Battalion - Indianapolis, Indiana; Detachment Commander, Battalion S3 and Battalion Executive Officer, 510th Personnel Services Battalion - Mannheim, Germany; Joint Chiefs of Staff Intern, Joint Staff - Pentagon; J1, JTF-160 - GITMO, Cuba; Battalion Executive Officer, 15th Personnel Services Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division and Chief, Strength Management Section, 1st Cavalry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom - Baghdad, Iraq; Branch Chief, Enlisted Personnel Management, Directorate and Executive Officer for Commanding General, Human Resources Command - Alexandria, Virginia; Division G1, 1st Cavalry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom - Baghdad, Iraq and Th eater G1/ C1 for United States Army Central Command - Arifjan, Kuwait. Colonel Ginés’ awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (2OLC), Joint Meritorious Unit Awards (1 OLC) and various campaign and service medals. Colonel Ginés is authorized to wear the Combat Action Badge, the Joint and Army Staff Identifi cation Badges, the Airborne Parachute Badge and the Israel Defense Force Parachute Wings.
