DOTD announces project to repair a section of LA 115 in Rapides Parish

RAPIDES PARISH, La. – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces a $4.7 million project to improve and repair a portion of LA 115 in Deville, Rapides Parish.

Work on the project is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, and stretches from LA 1207 to LA 28 (5 miles of repairs).

The project includes full-depth base repairs, milling to remove the old asphalt, new asphalt paving, new roadway striping, and related work.

Motorists should anticipate intermittent lane closures on LA 115 to allow construction activities to proceed safely and efficiently. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to advance warning signage, lowered speed limits, and crews & equipment on site.

All work on the project is anticipated to be complete in Fall 2026, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.

LA 115 provides connectivity to several communities in Rapides Parish and to points beyond. Investing in repairing this route is critical to the continued improvement of the state’s overall transportation system.

The project was awarded to Gilchrist Construction Company, LLC.

Safety reminder:

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
