The Constitutional Convention is Proposition #1 on the back of the ballot 11/7/17 - If you vote yes on this question you are asking for: a boondoggle for our state lawmakers who will double their salaries (and "double dip") with no guarantee of an end in sight, no guarantee that any proposed changes will be proposed or adopted; a cost of 300 million or more and the chance to threaten the following rights: a free public education, public pensions, worker's compensation, union membership and collective bargaining, and a budget role for the state legislature among others.

If you vote no you understand that the best way to amend the NYS Constitution is to use the process in place that has already been done over 200 times since the inception of the NY Constitution.

You maybe concerned, as we all are about corruption in State government, but don't let "the fox guard the henhouse."
We urge you to vote no on Prop #1. Thank you!

Save the Date! The next KREA luncheon
Our next Kenmore Retired Educators Association luncheon will be Thursday May 18th at 11 am at Orazio’s Restaurant, 9415 Main Street in Clarence. We will begin with a complimentary cheese, cracker and fruit table, during the social hour, followed by lunch at noon.
Our program is an important one that you will not want to miss. This year -something that happens every 20 years - when New Yorkers go to the polls in November they will vote on whether a Constitutional Convention should be held. There are several critical issues tied into this, including possible changes to our pensions. Tracey Beatty of the local NYSUT office is a trained representative on this issue.
You don’t need to respond or send in a reservation now, this is just a “save the date notice.” Be watching your email the first week in April, when our newsletter and luncheon reservation sheet will be sent.
Your KREA officers: Dennis Priore, President; Bernie Moldoch, Vice President; Mike Licata, Secretary; Karen Koehler, Treasurer. John Cardarella, NYSRTA Rep.
