Be prepared for the upcoming winter weather this weekend!

The US National Weather Service Buffalo NY has issued a Winter Storm Warning starting tomorrow for Erie County. All of the county should receive 1 foot of snow, though 3 feet is possible. With winds gusting tomorrow as high as 65 mph, blizzard conditions are possible. The NWS strongly discourages travel.

The US National Weather Service Buffalo NY team has advised us the storm will not be like the December 2022 Blizzard, but will be a significant weather event. The snow fall rates are manageable for
Erie County Department of Public Works but the wind will create localized whiteout conditions, making travel difficult.

Consumers Beware - Avoid a gift card scam when holiday shopping!

"Inspect the gift card before you buy it. Make sure the protective stickers are on the card and that it doesn’t look like someone tampered with them. Also check that the PIN number on the back isn’t showing. Pick a different gift card if you spot a problem and show the tampered card to a cashier or manager."

Only scammers will tell you to buy a gift card, like a Google Play or Apple Card, and give them the numbers off the back of the card. No matter what they say, that’s a scam. No real business or government agency will ever tell you to buy a gift card to pay them. Always keep a copy of your gift car...
