Holiday Fire Safety
Winter holidays are a time for families and friends to get together, but holidays can also bring an increased risk for home fires.

Here are a few simple tips that can make the holidays fire-safe.
· Choose holiday decorations that are flame resistant or flame retardant.
· Remember that real Christmas trees and candles are not allowed in People Inc.'s certified residences.
· Make sure you are using the right holiday lights. Some lights are only for indoor or outdoor use, but not both.
· Replace any strings of lights that have worn or broken cords or loose bulbs.
· Use clips, not nails, to hang lights so the cords do not get damaged.
· Make sure decorations do not block windows or doors.
· Stay in the kitchen when cooking at high temperatures.
· Turn off all light strings and decorations when leaving the room or going to bed. In 24-hour sites, it is best for these decorations to be shut off overnight, as they are not meant to be on 24 hours a day.

Hi Folks! Happy Pride 😀. I've been following the weather closely and it looks like rain tomorrow. We agreed to meet on the corner of Ferry and Elmwood in Buffalo in front of the Unitarian church. People may or may not show up due to the weather (rain and thunderstorms). The church wasn't able to give us any parking which is understandable, so parking on Ferry would be your best shot. To be truthful if it looks like bad weather you may want to evaluate attendance based on mobility and or medical considerations. I may not be attending if the the weather is bad ( just to be upfront). If the weather clears later there is always the festival at canal side. Just remember there is a $10 entrance fee. Remember EVERY day is Pride in our hearts.

Meeting tonight 5/23/17 from 6-7:30 at the Pride Center on Elmwood Ave. Tonight's topic is navigating Pride and all of the activities associated with Pride. Light refreshment will be served. See you there!
