I thought I would share something I found phenomenal. We're all familiar with ball and stick models of molecules, most famously the benzene ring with its infamous hexagonal shape. It's interesting that we only ever see these as graphical representations, because in reality this is just what we theorize molecules look like. In 2009 atomic force microscopy revealed an actual "picture" of pentacene. Fascinatingly, you can clearly see benzene rings. Molecular structure is not just a theory, it's real!
