Mission: Our mission is to support and promote our business environment while strengthening the relationship between our commercial, residential, and nonprofit communities. This great organization was created to serve the neighborhoods of: •South Buffalo •Kaisertown •East Lovejoy •The Old First Ward •The Valley •Clinton-Bailey •Seneca-Babcock The Greater South Buffalo Chamber of Commerce was formed in 2001 by Mark J.F. Schroeder, then an Erie County Legislator and now a member of the New York State Assembly, in partnership with local business leaders. Recognizing a need to better support local merchants and neighborhoods, the chamber was formed with a volunteer board of directors from the business community. The board created a series of successful events and publications which continue to grow and expand in order to promote our region. Are you on our mailing list? Have you been to one of our events? We invite you to get involved. Your ideas count! Call us or send an e-mail today.

Author and illustrator Suzanne K. F. Capper will visit Dog Ears Bookstore & Café, 688 Abbott Road, Buffalo, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, for a book-signing event.

“Princess Suzette: Counting in her Kingdom” is a children’s book by Capper that takes young readers on a journey through a magical kingdom where they can count the charming creatures that dwell there. It’s a fun exploration book that kids are sure to enjoy.

Capper has always loved to draw. Growing up, she enjoyed creating art and strove to someday publish her own children’s books. She grew up in Western New York and graduated from Orchard Park High School in 1999, and later graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in illustration. Capper then travelled to Bournemouth University in England to earn a master’s degree in 3D computer animation. This is where she met her husband, and together they currently reside in Toronto while maintaining ties to the Western New York community.
