Evergreen Health is committed to fostering healthy communities by providing medical, supportive and behavioral services to individuals and families in Western New York, especially those in marginalized populations and/or challenged by chronic or life threatening diseases. Throughout the last 30 years, Evergreen has developed a wide range of life-enhancing services to support the ability of its consumers to lead healthy, secure and satisfying lives. as members of the regional community. Evergreen works with poor, undeserved, and/or stigmatized individuals dealing with multiple chronic diseases such as HIV/AIDS, diabetes and heart disease. Evergreen also provides a variety of services to assist those with mental health challenges and substance use issues, and offers programs created specifically to assist sexual minorities - many of whom are inadequately treated by mainstream providers. Our staff of over 220 professionals works to apply an intentionally thoughtful approach for delivering services to over 13,000 clients in Western New York. Our campus of care encompasses five properties in Buffalo and a satellite facility located in Jamestown, NY. Walk With Us--- Make a difference by joining hundreds of Western New Yorkers in the 27th annual and final AIDS Walk Buffalo, as we honor the history of AIDS Walk and prepare for our Next Steps! Walk solo or with a team, and help raise funds to support HIV services in the WNY community. Fundraise Online--- It’s easy to do everything online! It’s simple and convenient to register at aidswalkbuffalo.org. Use the handy web tools to make your own web page, set up a team or join an existing one, email your family and friends, and accept online credit card contributions. Is There an Entry Fee to Participate?--- There's no entry fee, but walkers ages 13 and up are strongly encouraged to raise a minimum of $25 to walk. This is a fundraising walk and we encourage you to aim higher and surpass the minimum! Where Does the Money Go?--- Funds raised go directly to programs and services that help HIV+ individuals and their families right here in Western New York, including medical treatment, case management, counseling, housing assistance and nutritious meals. All monies raised directly benefit Evergreen Health. Should I Collect Pledges Before the Walk?--- All funds must be turned in the morning of the Walk starting at 9:00 a.m. In order to qualify for prizes and recognition, money must be turned in to AIDS Walk headquarters by 12 p.m. on May 5. Money turned in after that point will be appreciated, but will not count toward your personal or team goal.
