Question for Erie County taxpayers:

Should politicians have access to the county-owned Bills hospitality suite?

Yesterday, I proposed a simple amendment to the Bills suite policy: ban all elected officials, including me, from entering or using the suite.

I believe this is a common-sense proposal that puts taxpayers first and removes any appearance that elected officials are receiving special access or perks.

If this policy is really about the people, why not support an amendment that would keep politicians out of the suite?

Taxpayers deserve transparency and accountability, not loopholes that allow elected officials access to a county-owned luxury suite.

Youth big game hunting is officially approved in Erie County! Today, the Erie County Legislature voted to override the County Executive’s veto.

This almost never happens, and it speaks volumes about how strong the public support for this program truly was. This was not about politics. It was about common sense, public service, and listening to the people we represent.

I was proud to cosponsor this legislation and help get it across the finish line.

Once filed with New York State, this local law will take effect immediately, meaning 12 and 13 year old youth hunters in Erie County will be able to participate in big game hunting alongside trained, supervising adults just like youth across nearly all of New York State already can.

The New York State DEC’s own data shows this program is safe and working with zero signs of incidents.

Thank you to the hunting groups, youth advocates, families, and community members who showed up, spoke out, attended hearings, and fought for this every step of the way. Your voices made the difference.

If you know a youth hunter, let them know Erie County is finally joining the rest of New York this fall.

Today isn’t just the unofficial start of summer or a long weekend. It is a day to pause, reflect, and remember the men and women who gave their lives serving this country and never made it home.

I am grateful to have walked in the West Seneca Memorial Day Parade this morning and to also stop by the conclusion of the Town of Wales ceremony. It was great to see so many people come together to honor the fallen and speak with the veterans who carry these memories with them every day.

Today and every day, let’s remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

Not the ending we wanted, but thank you to the Buffalo Sabres for a fantastic season. Buffalo is buzzing again because of the grit and determination of this team. The future is bright.

A memorable season comes to an end for the Buffalo Sabres after a Game 7 loss to the Montreal Canadiens 🦬⚔️

If you’ve seen the East Aurora Bike Bus rolling through the village on Friday mornings, you know it’s hard not to smile—music, bubbles, and a whole lot of joy.

In honor of National Bike Month, I joined organizers Tim Noon, Mike Macaluso, and Mike Robinson for the ride to Parkdale Elementary. It was a great way to start the day and a wonderful example of community in action.

The program was recognized by GObike Buffalo with the 2025 Sustainable and Active Commuter of the Year Award. I was honored to present a proclamation recognizing the Bike Bus for its positive impact—encouraging healthy, active habits and bringing families together each week.

Thank you for letting me tag along, and thank you to the volunteers and the East Aurora Police Department who make this possible every week.

This veto ignores facts, ignores DEC safety data, and ignores the overwhelming support heard at public hearing. Now it returns to the Legislature — and I hope every “yes” vote holds the line so we can override it.

Today marks four years since the tragedy at Tops that took ten innocent lives and injured three others, forever changing our community. We remember those we lost, stand with their families and loved ones, and reject the hatred that led to this horrific act.

Today, I fought to give Erie County residents relief at the pump.

It was blocked.

Our resolution to cap the county gas tax would have helped families keep more of their hard earned money at a time when fuel costs continue to rise. We have done this before successfully, and there is no reason we should not be doing it again now.

Affordability cannot just be a talking point. Today, the Legislature had an opportunity to put words into action and provide real relief to taxpayers. Instead, the majority chose to protect Mark Poloncarz’s out of touch spending priorities over giving residents a break at the pump.

Erie County taxpayers are tired of being taxed to death while government keeps demanding more.

We will continue reintroducing this resolution until it passes because residents deserve action, not excuses.

Every day, the men and women in law enforcement show up ready to serve and protect our communities — often putting themselves in harm’s way to do it. Because of their work and sacrifice, our neighborhoods are safer, our kids can play outside, and families can rest a little easier at night.

Their commitment does not go unnoticed, and neither does the support and sacrifice made by their families behind the scenes.

Thank you for your service, professionalism, and dedication to protecting our community.
